Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 22, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how YouGear ("YouGear," "we," "us" or "our") collects, uses and protects information when you visit yougear.co, when we contact your business, and when you use our services.
1. Information we collect
- Public business information. To find businesses whose website could be improved, we collect information businesses publish themselves: the business name, address, phone number, public email address, opening hours, and the text, photos and logo on its website.
- Information you give us. When you email us, ask for a preview or sign up, you may give us your name, email address, phone number and details about your business.
- Payment information. Payments are processed by Stripe. We see your name, email, plan and payment status, but never your full card number.
- Technical information. Our hosting provider processes basic technical data, such as IP addresses, to deliver and protect our websites. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
2. How we use it
- to build concept previews and contact businesses about our services;
- to design, build, host and maintain our customers' websites;
- to answer questions and provide support;
- to process subscriptions and send receipts; and
- to operate, secure and improve our services.
3. If we contacted your business
Every email we send says who we are and how to stop hearing from us. If you reply no, or ask us to stop, we delete the preview and the information we gathered about your business, and we never contact you again. To make sure of that, we keep only a minimal record: the business name, its web address and a one-way scrambled (hashed) copy of the email address. If we hear nothing back after our last email, we delete the preview and the information the same way.
4. AI tools
We use AI tools, including Anthropic's Claude, to help design previews and to read and draft emails. A person approves every email we send.
5. Who we share it with
We do not sell personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run YouGear, such as Cloudflare (hosting), Stripe (payments), Microsoft (email), Google (internal tools) and Anthropic (AI), who may use it only to provide their services to us; and with authorities when the law requires it.
6. Security and retention
We use encrypted connections and limit access to the information we hold. We keep customer information while you subscribe and as long as needed afterwards for billing, legal and tax purposes. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your choices
You can ask us to show, correct or delete the information we hold about you or your business by emailing us. If you cancel a subscription, your site comes down as described in our Terms of Service.
8. Children
Our services are for businesses and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. When we do, we change the date at the top of this page.
